CRESTLINE, Calif., July 24 (Inland Empire News Online) — A small black bear pushed open the front door of the Crestline Village Water District office in the San Bernardino Mountains on Wednesday afternoon, spent about two minutes in the lobby and then left after briefly entering the main office, according to district surveillance video and staff accounts.

Employees said no customers were in the office at the time and no one was hurt. The district said the bear did not damage the building, though staff reported nose prints on the doors.

District footage showed the animal standing on its hind legs to open the door before moving through the office and heading back toward the woods. The office manager said the bear turned around and walked out after seeing staff.

The incident happened about 12:15 p.m. at the water district office in Crestline, a mountain community in San Bernardino County. The district and employees did not say whether wildlife officials later tracked the bear after it left the building.
