NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic has recalled more than 13,000 electric toaster ovens sold online in the United States and Canada after regulators said a power cord insulation problem could create shock and fire hazards for shoppers.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 toaster ovens, stainless steel units with the Panasonic name on the front and a temperature knob on the bottom. The agency said about 11,480 were sold in the U.S. and about 2,184 in Canada, mostly online from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170 each.

The CPSC said Panasonic has received four reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.

In a Costco member letter, Panasonic Corporation of North America said Costco records show some members bought Item No. 2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The company told owners to stop using the product immediately and said they can return it to Panasonic for a refund or bring it to a Costco warehouse customer service window for a full refund.
