WASHINGTON, July 5 (DC Times Online) — Michael and Susan Dell pledged $6.25 billion to help seed Trump Accounts for 25 million American children, a White House-backed effort tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary and set to begin collecting contributions on July 4, 2026.

The White House said the gift will add $250 to accounts for eligible children age 10 and under who live in ZIP codes with median incomes below $150,000. The federal program begins with a $1,000 Treasury seed contribution for U.S. citizens born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028.

According to the White House, money in the accounts can later be used for education, a first home or starting a business, and guardians retain control of the accounts until the child turns 18. The administration said the Dell pledge is intended to extend the program’s reach beyond the government’s initial deposit.

President Donald Trump joined the Dells in Washington, DC, for the announcement, and the White House described the gift as one of the largest direct investments ever made in American families. Michael Dell is the founder of Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE: DELL).
